Default any 1999 wheel bearing issues?...have a wierd senario

all...i previously posted a purchase question and was wondering if anyone is familiar with any front wheel bearing issueswith the 1999 996 coupe.

the seller claims after the car's a/c is running for about 30 minutes, when he turns the front wheels, there is sometimes a squeeling noise....i know this seems odd considering i can't imagine any relationship between the a/c and the suspension but anyone have any ideas?

I had my driver's side front wheel bearing replaced soon after I bought my 99 Porsche. Just under 40k miles at the time, no issues since.

Sounds like a slipping accessory belt.

+1 for belt
??Possible slipping belt causing slight "judder/ squeal" felt in power steering??

Tough choices on route. I-5 is OK all the way but not much for scenic like the coast hwy. Best of fun making it an enjoyable journey. Probably not much of a chance to enjoy right away the luxury a/c of the car. You also might try getting some info on a good a/c shop to check the system out to make sure the drag from the a/c isn't from low on oil in there so the long trip might make it screwier. Just a thought.

Have a good one. Not everybody gets to have their first drive in the car for such a healthy distance. Enjoy!
