Sumis. I've had mine for over a year, and they are still good to go. Great value for a street tire, IMO.

Lesson learned. I didn't check when I bought it. There used to be an age limitation for tires on CPO car, but now only tread depth and matching tires.

My car is street driven with about 2 DEs per year.

Another vote for the Sumis from Tire Rack. Wonderful ride and great price for non-track use.

Being a spirited driver, I want a tire that sticks to the curves here in the Sierra's. Is the Sumi a tire for aggressive driving?

I drove the DW's in AutoX and for a DE. They did just fine.

We ran Bridgestone RE-960's on our 993 and absolutely loved them. We will put them on anything now requiring all-season tires they were so good. More expensive than the Sumi's, but IMHO worth it.

I'd pick the Summis, have used them for a little over a year, no complaints, no regrets.

I would buy them too, if they made the 960's in 996 sizes!

Sumi's on mine. Was surprised at the price increase for rears as compared to two years ago.

Nope, 18's. They don't seem to make them in 225 / 40.

I've had the Sumis for about four months. No complaints. Can't speak for the track, but they're great on the street.

Looks like you are right. But the RE-970 has now superseded the 960. They do have the 225/40, but you would have to go up to 275/35 in the rear. Looking at my car, that should not be a problem.

Interesting, but at close to $1,000 for the set, I may just keep my summer/winter setup a little longer!

I vote for the Sumis only because that is what I have and I love them for the street.
