Default What's the best place to get a refurbished 996 6-speed transmission?

The transmission in my '99 996 needs some additional repairs and therefore I am considering getting a replacement refurbished transmission rather than continuing with the repairs. Does anyone have any experience with, or can recommend, a good company for refurbished transmissions and is it likely they will offer a trade-in credit for my existing unit?

I think Gbox also stocks 996 rebuild trannys which you can exchange. Gbox is an sponsor. This now becomes a freight cost game in terms of saving money. a few shops rebuilds them.

In addition to Gbox there's also California Motorsports. Both of them are 996 experts.

Trannys?

Steve, you're still talking about transmissions, right?

OK, sorry for the interruption!

That price from GBox (+/- as John states) includes shipping to and from. They make shipping very easy, and turned my transmission around in about 1 1/2 weeks from the time the shipping company picked it up until it was delivered back to us in Houston.
