Chirping noise when taking off in 1st or reverse
Hello all,
Quick question- As of recently I've noticed a chirping noise when taking off from a stop in 1st or reverse. Car is an '02 with 43k, original clutch. Is this an indication that I will need a clutch soon? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Burning Brakes
could be the throw out bearing. Does it make the noise only with the pedel depressed? If it does then that would be my guess.
I just had mine replaced along with a clutch kit.

What function said ^^^. Or, could be clutch plate/pressure plate "squealing" when under load because of glazing over. Just change it all when you do the clutch job.

I have the same thing, I was told it's the throw out bearing. My chirping runs in any gear, obviously the noise of the engine drowns is out but if you drive near a solid object you hear it again. slightest touch on the clutch and it's gone.

I don't think it's a big thing my clutch is only about a year old so I don't plan on pulling the tranny unless I have to, it's a damn shame it wasn't making the noise before the new engine went in.
