Default NAME THAT PART

In trying to fit a new oil filler tube, I broke this part today. Sent this picture off to a couple vendors, and both could not find it or identify it. It is part of the genorator bracket, but also has a coolant pipe that heads upwards (which is what I broke)

If anyone knows its name or part # I would be closer to a car that may run again and very thankfull.

Try one of these two but with no guarantee.

I can't quite tell from that picture. Is it a plastic joint that joins two coolant hoses? The bottom hose runs to the water pump and the upper hose runs up and over the engine?

it looks like hs is talking about the "Foot" looking Part, if you look on the Top Right of that part, looks like the Hose Broke off it, its looks like a Bracket for the Alternator or Pully with a Coolant line going thru it probably to cool the Part Attached to it...

coolant drain hose connection bracket

Hi all
I was reminded that I should finish this thread when I saw someone else post with what may be a similar problem.
The bracket that failed is part of the engine casing through which the cooling fluid moves.
I ordered my parts through Sunset (Jeff) and I cannot say enough good things about their service (and prices). I ordered the bracket and gasket (<$30) oil fill tube, Serp. belt, o ring for the vacum line and other miscellaneous.
I installed new oil fill tube. I cleaned and buffed the Alternator and reinstalled with new alt bracket. Reinstalled associated cooling hoses and vacum hose. Reinstalled new Serpentine belt. Changed the oil and filter, and following another thread here fully flushed the cooling system with distilled water(probably overkill) and replaced with 3 gallons of Dex cool.
I must say that I enjoy working on this car and that it all went together just as good as new.
The guy above with the casting failure (see missing part of bolt hole on bracket) that led to the alternator falling off and taking his belt off and cutting up the oil fill tube got his part from 'Jeff' at Sunset. I'd call them and ask for this Jeff and see if he can recall the part number and this guy's problem. Sounds like you have to order a gasket as well as bleed the air out of the system now. Good luck.

Oh, I'm very familiar with that part. I refused to buy another stock piece of plastic because it pissed me off so much when it broke. It was nearly impossible to get all of the broken plastic out of the coolant hoses! I ended up ordering an aluminum male to male hose joint. I bent a small piece of steel to create my own bracket to hold it in place. The joint can be purchases from McMaster if you want to go that route. The bracket was a pain, but until I was done with it a zip tie worked just fine.

Sort of like when all the lights come on and start flashing in the cockpit of a jet and the phrase 'That can't be good' is used...

Thanks for the responses. I showed the broken piece to a guy that said he could repair it-we will see if once I put the car back together if it leaks or not.

I did find the part # and have it if anyone else should need it. I doubt they will since I don't think anyone else start swinging a hammer in a tiny Porsche engine bay. After 2 hours of tapping on the generator bolt with the pully on it to push the bushing back so I could remove the generator, I got a little more aggressive. The bushing was rusted in place.

You know what? Show me one person here who has never had a self-inflected thing go wrong while they work on their car and I'll show you someone who lies or isn't taking on a tough enough job. JB Weld has bailed me out in the past - just saying...
