I am in the middle of rebuilding my H car after crashing it last year. I found a roller, swapped the engine, and am now in the process of swapping suspension, race parts etc. I only chose this option because I had a crate motor with less than 2K miles on it and complete GT3 suspension with very little damage.
It took me months to find a roller at a decent price. DC Automotive has a couple now, check their pelican posting, but just too expensice if you still need drivetrain components.
The roller above is a crazy place to start for a race car. If i was starting from scratch, I'd look at the aero car for sale in the member classifieds. By the time you source suspension, aero kit and a decent engine, you will be near that price anyway.

That is correct. What about the GT3 cups? They have the square boxy section in the front trunk - so they're made on a 4 wheel drive chassis. Does that mean that '99-'01 Cups are narrow body and '02+ Cups are wide body (since they made the turbo and C4S then)? Or did they continue using narrow bodies for the later Cups? Or are all Cups wide bodies?

MKII cars were produced and sold outside of the US in C4 as well as C4S configurations, the latter being the wide body version of the all wheel drive chassis that was also sold in the U.S.

there are 3 different 996 cup car variants, 99 gt3-R, 00/01 gt3-rs, 04 gt3 rsr, all riding on same C4 chassis with different fenders, flares, suspension components, bumpers to accommodate wider track
Only major difference I'm aware of in the 04 is the sequential
997 gt3-RS is on a widebody c4 chassis (and confusingly the 997 gt3 is a narrow)

So Dan, looking at the CR rules, it looks like any '99-'01 996 is legal in H class. I guess the question is: can you put C2 running gear into a C4 chassis? (And, would it really be that big of an advantage?)
