Same, but the 40th has painted grilles and the others have black.

With the 235/40 the only issue might be the underside of the spring perch up front. I ran 245/40/18 BFG R1 race tires for a bit and they rubbed some on the spring perch and the front fender liner, but they would be considerably taller than a 235/40 street tire.

255/35/18 and 315/30/18 will fit on stock wheels on stock suspension. You'll want a 5-7mm spacer on the front to clear the strut but it won't touch the fender liner or the strut. Rear is no issue at all but I was running 2 degrees of camber. You would need at least 1 degree I think. With the 295 you could probably get away with a stock alignment.

#445 is back up for sale again. A bit painful, truly my favorite car to date, but it needs to go.

I had a set of those and while very attractively priced they were at the end of their life cycle
One they stiffen up they become quite noisy
Also Sumi's 295 runs a little wide, almost like a shoe that 'runs large'

You'll be fine, some racers have run 305 in the back
the MKII's have more clearance in the wells than previous 996's

Hey Fracture thanks for the advice. New Sumi’s mounted/balanced and installed, zero issues. The car rides/handles fantastic, just like always!

Can you please tell me the full name of the Sumi's. I need new tires, and this tire didn't come up on my tire rack search. 18" and same size you have.

Thanks!

Joe

The 911 is fixed and back on the road. Gotta give the turbo a rest.

Dryslick13 - Nr. 0963 lives in Montrose. If you don't mind, please ask your accountant if that's his car. If so, he's already in our Registry group. If not, do you mind asking him to contact me so that I can get his car's details for the Registry? My email is 40jahre911@gmail.com. Many thanks. Ted

Nice, Steve - what's the mileage on the 40th up to now? The other owners love getting updates on that. Thanks. Ted

Hi Ted, After spending a "couple" of bucks on engine matters, it's running great as ever. Just turned 345,000 yesterday. Looking forward to any Porsche 40th events this year. Auto Edge of St. Paul,Mn. did a great job of cleaning up/refreshing things, couldn't believe car has 345k on it! Steve
