My first full weekend with the 40th. Have to show off some pics. Paint correction, polish, glaze, wax, headlight restore and ditched the front plate for color matched bumperplugs. I'd say it was a success. Pics to show off my progress:

Found this on FB. I wonder if they are from an AE car. If so, it could work for your car e90steve.

$300 US for two

Thanks for looking out for me. I’m kinda digging the non chrome ones for now though and if I do end up swapping them out I’m thinking maybe of a set of BBS.

The centercaps on those ones look to be non AE caps. Not sure about the rest of the wheel.

Agree that center caps are not OEM. Hard to tell if wheels are chrome or polished - OEM was polished.

Thanks - if they are chrome though, you'ld want 4 of them - 2 polished and 2 chrome would look odd.

Question

Has anyone gone through the process of refreshing their M030 suspension components? I'm talking about wear items - rubber parts, seals, etc., and if so, how and was the effort worth it vs a suspension change? I came across this thread, which touches on the topic and has a nice diagram of perishable parts:

Sorry for the late reply - just saw your posting. Here's the link on Instagram. I didn't get any more info than what you'll see in the comments next to that photo.

Wow, I'm sorry but I missed your posting that you're the new owner of Nr. 0452. Although it's late I want to say "congrats"! When you have a moment please shoot me an email at 40jahre911@gmail.com so that I can get a couple of details from you and I also would like to send you some stuff about your car from one of its previous owners. Great to have you aboard. Ted

Congrats and welcome...I actually saw your posting over the weekend that you had previously made on PelicaParts technical forum. When you have a moment please shoot me an email at 40jahre911@gmail.com so that I can get a few details for the Registry car list.

Default Help in evaluating a 40th for sale.

I've been looking buying a 40th off/on over the past year. I've been on the tail end of several great deals: $29-33k for mid 30k mile cars. Most are on the East coast (I'm West). Last weekend one got by me in Utah; 1 owner, mid 30K miles... even luggage for, ...if I remember right $33k. He seemed like a nice guy... sold it to a "Porsche enthusiast".

I recently lost my 99 cab (RIP) and want to move on to a 40th sooner than later. Can you help me eval this car?: https://www.mwcarline.com/vehicle-de...123c80e4fb47e1

No less than 8 previous owners! Are these the correct wheels? No clutch or IMS replacement yet. Asking $36,750.00

Thanks Craig

IMSB failure on 996 AE cars seems as rare as 997.1 IMSB failures.

Get a PPI, and if solid buy it and drive it!
