Did a few minor replacements tonight

A big thanks to all you guys who take the time to write such clear, easy to follow DIY posts!
I installed a few replacement items for my 'new to me' 2004 C4S this evening when I got in from work. I bought a few things from Suncoast when I got the car and they finally came today.
One of my bigger ticket purchases was a new replacement 6-speed aluminum Porsche Exclusive shift knob. The one that came with the car was ok, just nicked up and a little worn, so I decided to splurge and get a new one. Using the Search function, I diligently researched the shifter removal process and read the tug-of-war/blackeye horror stories and even printed out Tim's 'double screwdriver leg fulcrum' directions from a vintage post. So I was ready. First things first, the plastic horseshoe popped right off--a good sign. Then I folded back the leather boot, found and loosened the little hex nut in front. So far so good. Now I was ready to do battle and bust it loose...of coarse it practically fell off. I wasn't sure if I should be relieved or disappointed. So I settled for relieved.
The aluminum foot pedals were more difficult but once again, I just followed the directions you all wrote and it was done in no time. Tim, the 2" spring clamp suggestion was a big help. The shiny aluminum pedals make a big difference to brighten up a black interior.
I also added a new (996 old style) gold hood crest. That thing looked like a JEWEL when I took it out of the box. My wife was wondering what I was cooking when she saw me using her good La Crueset pot to boil water. Kinda didn't want to tell her that it was to heat up the gasket to make it more pliable to stretch it...she wouldn't understand.
I was really amazed at how easy it was to make some minor changes if you just follow the directions (a new concept for me). Next week maybe I'll tackle that ROW suspension upgrade.....nah, better not get ahead of myself.
Thanks again guys!

I'm glad some old posts could help. However, if there are no pics of the new mods, then they never happened! ;)

Doesn't it feel good after a successful mod or two?

I think Kyle had his car about as long as you have... and he pulled the transmission and replaced the IMS bearing. I want to see you get to work on that!

All new shiny stuff and no pics = ban.

Just adding a new gasket will make a big difference.

OK, here are couple of the minor things I did.
It did feel good to get them accomplished so quickly...all of them only took me two hours from start to finish.
