Default Clear Bra Removal

How easy and how safe is it to remove a clear bra application. It has been on a couple of years and is pretty badly pitted. Does it come off with out damaging the paint during removal.

Thanks.

Well, not to scare you, but here was a thread I started somewhere else on this . . .
REMOVAL

On the detailing site from the above link you will find other removal threads too.

Basically, it should come off with the following possible "surprises."
1. If cut on the car (like my dealer does) there MIGHT be an occasional line where they cut too deep.
2. Small impacts might have loosened a spot of paint, that might lift off with the film.

Suggestion: A good installer has probably had experience with removal too.

Good luck (and let us all know how it goes)
thanks!

Dangit. I saw the title and thought of the "disregard thread." Seems like this thread is a legit help thread. Booooo.

+1. I agree...this title 'should' be accompanied with some pics of the clear bra removal. Hey Ed, aren't you out there somewhere to help with some pics??

Does it even matter if it's clear or has a color?

No different than any other bra. There's a hook or two on the back.

Hey, I like the clear ones! Always good to see the bodywork underneath...

In an attempt to add value other than humor...

+1 on asking an installer to do the removal. I have my clear bra removed by a body shop, and had absolutely no issues. Prior to removal I had numerous rock dings in the bra, plus a number of large abrasions (I drove through/under a chain link fence). Once removed I had a front bumper, hood and fenders that were like new.

I asked about removal when I had it installed. Basically, it's a careful peel augmented with heat. Slow and steady. I wouldn't even think about trying it myself, that heat gun scares me. Well, technically, the amount of damage I could accidentally do with a heat gun scares me.

Hope yours comes off ok.

Now back to the soon-to-be-naked boobies jokes.

Tim, do you have any pics with DIY removal instructions, before
claying, polishing and waxing?
