Thumbs up THANKS TO ALL! I'm an official 996 owner!

Thanks to all who have helped me! I am an official 996 owner.

Here is my car's specs! I love the fact that it has the X51, sport exhaust, heated seats AND rear wiper (yes, I like the rear wiper). I did the PPI and the engine was 1% 2% 2% 2% 2% 1.5% during the leakdown test.

2004 C4S
AH Black Full Leather
Y1 Seal Grey Metallic
M6A Black Mats - Porsche lettering
680 Bose Digital Sound
692 Remote CD changer (6-disc)
425 Rear wiper
P74 Xenon Headlamp Package with dynamic leveling and washers
X51 Carrera Power Kit 345 HP Includes modified cylinder heads, camshafts, exhaust manifolds, control unit, and aluminum intake manifold.
XLF Sport Exhaust System Two stage exhaust. Includes interior switch between normal exhaust and sport exhaust
342 Heated Front Seats
982 Supple Leather Seats/Trim
XPD 3-Spoke Str Whl-Carbon/Leather: Carbon Fiber finish on steering wheel rim (2.7a). Leather finish on airbag module (2.7b) and hub cover (2.7c).
Y05 Shift Lever/Brake Handle-carbon and aluminum
CCZ Sport Shifter
446 Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly
446 996: Colored Wheel Crests
498 Without rear model designation
CRFT Brake Caliper In Yellow

Question for you folks are:
1) Why would someone order the car "without model designation"
2) Why the hell would someone pay $3825 to simply have the brake calipers in YELLOW?!@?! First I thought they were the 6 piston yellow calipers for the "ceramic brakes" set. But they are not. They are simply the same as the 4 piston red calipers.

No, it's a C4S. I guess it would have helped if I posted that. 446 is just the "painted wheel center caps". I don't know why they say "Targa" in the description.

I'm not so sold on the "short shifter". It makes it feel awkward. My Boxster S' is much nicer... heck, my old Miata's was even nicer than the Boxster's - probably the best shifter of all cars I've driven.

But I must say, the carbon fiber steering wheel is very nice. It actually makes you want to keep both hands on the wheel. Seriously, and no offense that this sounds perverted, it makes you want to stroke the damn thing.

The leather in this car is also "softer" than my Boxster's. I guess that's the "supple" part of "supple leather". When I think of leather, this is what I think of and like. Otherwise, the leather in most cars now seem so plasticky that I can't tell the difference between them and vinyl ("pleather"). However, I assume this "suppleness" will come with a hefty price of me conditioning it even more often than normal....Hmmm... I better stock up on the Griot's leather stuff.

In my book, this is a great find, you have all the good options + x51. Have you signed up for a DE event? Trust me, if you haven't you should, this car will put a larger smile on your face.

Love the car and color. Equipment is great, especially X51. How many miles on the car?
