Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to make it. I have to get my driveway sealed and don't have too many days of nice weather left.

Wayne, when you seal your driveway.... do you prefer the white baby cubs or the mature seals?

baby cubs are my favorite.

As a teenager I always liked this song.

Hey Wayne, I read that sealing the driveway actually CAUSES cracks. They don't seal the streets, and they last for decades! I'll never seal my driveway again....after I rip it out and get it re-done next spring.

All the more reason to get the Porsche out.

Happy sealing!

where did you read that? Odd. Not sure how it could cause cracks. Mine needed it, as you could see the surface wear.

It's funny that the different sealing products have 4, 6, 10 year warranties, but I've never actually bought a product that last more than 2 years.

I got the driveway prepped this evening - now I just have to do the hard work tomorrow.

Come to think of it, it was my brother in law, who is a contractor. He says the sealing only lasts a year or two, then water gets into it and cracks the seal, which forces you to re-seal, forever! He was the one who said they don't seal the streets!

Now that bit I understand - It was that bit about causing cracks that make no sense to me.

The problem is that roads are better constructed than most driveways.

What I've noticed with my driveway is that if I don't reseal periodically, then the surface starts becoming pitted and hairline cracks appear.

As I commented on earlier - what I have learned is to buy the least expensive sealer, as they all fail in 2 years, regardless of the claimed warranty.

I guess it totally depends on the driveway, how it's pitched, how the base layer is holding up, etc. How did yours come out??

PS--Had a fun time this morning, hanging and talking cars, etc! You should stop by in a few weeks Wayne.

Yup, weather was perfect, not as big a turnout as the last one but hey someone even brought a Lancia Scorpion, whens the last time you saw one of those, especially on the east coast where they generally rust into oblivion.

If the weather looks good next time I'll be there.

As for the drive way - it looks great and I know I'll be sore in the morning.
