Default Opinions Wanted: Painting Wheels

i've got an arctic silver 01 C4 and i'm planning on getting my carrera classic wheels refinished (really bad curb rash). i'm also thinking of getting them painted.

any ideas on what color would look good?

I have turbo look II's and I was thinking of having the spokes painted black for my track wheels... keeping the rims silver. Not sure, but best to see what others have done first, pics rule!

OH MY EYES!!!!!

Maci, you need to give us a little more warning before posting a pic like that! That was cruel and unusual punishment. Now I am going to need glasses!

I think silver (aluminum) color or black are your best choices for a silver car. You could mix it up with painting the centers and the lips differant, like black with polished aluminum lips or aluminum with a black detail of some sort.

i am considering painting them black with "new" silver center caps (thanks to othomasjr). the center caps match the body color pretty well.

I sold my OEM 5-spokes to a Rennlister who painted them black and put them on his older P-car.

I am not a huge fan of black wheels. I have a polar silver car and like the stock silver finish. If I were to go darker, I would probably go with a darker silver or simply contrast flat/polished surfaces, most likely with the rim polished and the spokes flat.

Regards,

Scott

+1 on the black, although I do like them on black cars... I'm dealing with the same issue and was thinking I would go a few shades darker, something along the lines of gunmetal, and leave a silver strip (stripe?) along the rim... but I'm desperately looking for pictures before I commit...

The pink would really work around Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk time (my wife has done it twice)... the walkers go a little nuts over anything pink and I'd imagine that would be worthy of a picture or three...
