2005 C4S purchase

I'm looking at a 05 C4S with 25K miles. A porshce dealer has it for $52K.. He wants another $2K to CPO it.

Any thoughts on price?

thanks

I think it's WAY overpriced for a 996. You can buy a MY07 997 TT for $75K.

I'd consider an offer in that in that range for mine, and it's an '04 with 3K miles, flawless, nicely equipped, and CPO'd til 2010. I think $52K is a little high for an '05 with 25K miles. Price obvioulsy also depends on color, equipment and condition. Happy hunting!!

I think, correct me if I am wrong, 2005 was the first year of the 997.

In 2005 the 997 was introduced only in the C2 and C2S models. All other 2005 variants (C4/C4S, GT3, Targa, and Turbo) were 996 models.

Ding! Correct, as usual.

I stand corrected.

Not sure how many 2005 C4S's were made, but I believe not many. You don't see many advertised. Anyone know how many are out there?

gota911 03-01-2009 04:12 PM

More than 1.

Guys,--when you're talking about $50K or more look seriously into 997s. They are starting to show up in that range. The 4WD 997s first appeared in calendar year 2006, while the first 997s showed up as early as the fall of 2004 as MY05 cars.

Dan, if I were looking for a 911, I would be pricing 997's. It's clearly a buyer's market right now.

I paid $42 for my C4S. At the time it had 60k miles on it. Original sticker was just over $100K.

There's a 2006 C4S at Langan Porsche in NJ - guards red/black, 48.5k miles. I believe they're asking $53K including CPO.

Ira Porsche just sold a 2006 c4s coupe with 13k miles for 59k, CPO.... It did sell quickly, probably because it was advertising 7-8k cheaper than the closest comp.
