I did 6mnths in LA traffic in a stick and hated it except for the odd occasion when I got to stretch it legs...

Sold it and got a tip instead... Ideally you need em both, tip for Mon-Fri... Stick for w/e's...

I drove a stick in LA traffic for about 2 years. No problem!

After 5:30pm... before that, it's all first gear.

I'm 6'3" and I have never hit my knee on the steering wheel while shifting my 911. There is more than enough room in the 996 for tall drivers.

I also am not bothered by driving a stick in heavy traffic. Granted, I don't drive in heavy traffic every day but when I do I hardly even notice operating the clutch or shifting the car. It all seems to happen naturally to me without giving it any thought.

Are you sure it's the traffic or you were really worried about your manicure?

The real question is stick or PDK.
I have always loved the stick, but I love faster and better performance.

I drive a stick and can't imagine driving anything else. But, my first impression of PDK from a recent Porsche dealer event was outstanding - the closest thing to a stick without a clutch that I can imagine.

At the end of the day, I'm a traditionalist - I prefer a stick.

It seems there are way more female 996 owners out there than we realize.

p.s. For the "sensitive" tip owners, I'm joking.

Arnee, this had me on the floor laughing.

A Porsche w/tip is like sex w/a condom.

Yeah, safer if you have lots of ups and downs.
