The aero kit cars seem to hold their value fairly well 3.4 or 3.6. The C4S's are comming way down in price. There is a 2002 locally with 24K on the clock that just lowered the price to $44K.

Interested in the pros, cons and opinions of the choices above.

Both are great cars. Given the chance I'd go for a C4S with an aero kit.

Tough choice:

C4S - pretty even without an aerokit but slower and heavier.
C2 - faster and more agile but needs an aerokit to futher enhance its lines.

C2 works well with snow tires also.

All depends on what you are after. I personally like the C2 with aero kit look better. If you are going for resale value, I think the C4S hold better value cause is rarer.

Another vote on the C4s looks-wise, but you knew that already.

Where do you live?

If you live where there is a lot of wet weather, I'd go for the 4, if you live in Cali or Az, Tx, NM etc you could make an intelligent argument for the 2, from the handling perspective.

I'm in Nevada. So AWD makes no real differnce to me.

Good pros and cons here. The narrow C2 with aero looks great is lighter and probably faster even though it is a 3.4, but the 4S is no eye sore eigher. The 4S has the 3.6 and turbo brakes, suspension, AWD etc...

decisions, decisions.

I'd take the C4S any day. Obviously I'm biased, but there is just so much more to the C4S, which you apparently already know about. And which is faster? That is way, way, open to debate. I've had fun the last 6 years on this forum with just that topic. You can do a search and see it all and more. Suffice it to say that nothing is a given even bewteen the 3.6 engined brethren.

On the looks department, I've often wondered whether I would prefer the C4S with an aerokit. When I had cash, I decided I'd rather by a set of track wheels and tires rather than aerokit. Next cycle of disposable cash, I figured I'd rather spend the money on the X73 suspension. Next cycle, I decided to better spend it on GT3 seats, roll bar, 6 point harness. You can see where I'm going. Regardless, in the looks department, between a base C4S and a C2 with aerokit I think the C4S still looks better hands down.

Don't forget your third & best option: A mkII C2 with the Aerokit II (preferably from the factory).

That way you get the 3.6L same as the C4S, mkII GT3 looks, and with the lightness and handling of a C2. Win, win, win.

Your only trouble will be finding one for sale!
