Default Anyone from Pasadena CA? Need a PPI

I'm looking at a 2002 C2 in Pasadena and the dealership selling it swears all it needs is a RMS. It has 80K miles and I don't want to trust them that that's all it needs.

Can anyone recommend a good place in Pasadena the dealer can take it to for a PPI? I can drive down there but not until this Saturday. Is Rusnak recommended? They want $300 for a PPI and an additional $375 just for compression and leakdown testing!

I'm actually hoping it needs just a RMS because that will give me leverage on price, as it was NOT mentioned in the ad, and I have no problem dropping the 6spd and killing 9 hrs in my garage to do it. I figure it's going to need it at some point anyway no matter what 996 I buy, lol.

Thanks!

Alex

EDIT: Scientific Automotive says they will do a complete PPI INCLUDING compression and leakdown for only $250, looks like a winner unless I'm missing something...

take it to Callas Rennsport in Torrance. The other alternative is Otto's in Venice.

K, I'll give them a call for an estimate tomorrow.

Thanks!

Def. Callas for a PPI. You will learn a LOT about your car.
It's a bit of a drive from Pasadena, but you will KNOW they have your best interests in mind. Oh, and they know what they're doing. I wonder about some of the other shops in town.
