Just watched it. Various gains reported with 996, 997, 997s. Still not sure about the dyno being fool proof. Should be interesting to see what develops. Every mod I have done, I have convinced myself that gains have occured, but nothing to really back up or prove those feelings.
Ok so I had many mods done. I didn't feel any difference with power. The only thing I noticed was the sound from the engine is a lot more noticeable because of the evo cold air intake.
I thought I'd report back on the performance down the back straight of Mosport.
Last year with only fabspeed exhaust and solid spoke turbo wheels I was hitting 215-220 km/hour, this year with giac chip, plenum, evo cold air intake, fabspeed exhaust and Hollow spoke turbo wheels. I am hitting 216-220. I've also lost 15 lbs from last year.
I'd have to say there isn't any performance increase at all
I put one in my car and can tell you that I do notice the car seems to wind out quicker between the 4-6K RPM range. Now I have not dyno the car and can't really say I can feel it on the butt dyno, but I do think there is some improvement in power. I highly doubt the claim of 25HP, but keep in mind my car already has mufflers and a reprogram ECU. Do I think if there a power increase? Maybe 10HP. Do I think its worth the money? Probably not the best value, but short of going forced induction or a complete tear down like the X51 package its probably the second best HP product after an ECU reprogram.
Not sure if it is enough to make me spend that kind of money but some may go for it now.
Pete
Hmmm, a test performed by the manufacturer, using the manufacturer's equipment, and the manufacturer has hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake. Conversely independent tests contradict their findings...
Maybe it's true, but logic would say be skeptical.
To get Porsche to give you an extra 30 hp you have to pay 16k for the X51, and it comes with a ton of modifications. I am to belive that a piece of tubing that cost about $30 to make and they are charding 1000 for is going to add almost the same? riiigghhhhhtttt.

Come on drink the Kool-aid, I did but honestly could not tell you if I gained over all HP or not but can say it did help in some flat spots on the curve.
This is how I feel x 100. Couldn't have said it better.
The one bit I keep seeing overlooked is that the other outfit did an average before and after not peaks.
