well, the michigan economy is famous for getting the economic equivalent of the flu when the rest of the country gets the sniffles, but despite that, here in oakland county, there are plenty of porsches, quattroportes, and aston martins out and about.

i was at the neighborhood market recently to pickup some things for dinner and my p-car was one of 4 in the lot.

You and I will be getting new rides within the next week or so.... your's will be a TT and mine will be a 1987 Honda with only 258,321 miles on it, which is about 100 times the miles you have on your 996! Well, at least MY car will be "broken in!"

I have to agree that it's geographic rather than economic. Here in my neck of the woods, there's one 360 and one Gallardo, owned by friends, are the rare ones. Porsches are drowned in a sea of high end MB's and BMW's. I believe that regardless of where you are, those two marques will be more common than our Porsches.

Tim, I will never live that one down. For those who aren't aware, the 'little green circle' is the cruise control indicator light on the dash - which I had no idea how to eliminate until Tim "enlightened" me. In fact, I thought it was some sort of error light. After that post, I felt like an enlightened idiot.

Driving from Vegas to Delaware, I saw three: 2 944s in TN and a 996 Turbo in MD. Guess it's slim pickings in the heartland.

Pretty common here too. There are at least 3 911's in my neighborhood now + lots of Boxsters, older 911's and 944's, + 3 ferraris, 1 Bentley Conti coupe and a AM Vantage. I don't even live in a very affluent neighborhood; pretty much a middle class area. Maybe it's our strong Canuck buck and all these cars are coming in from the states.

We have 10 houses tucked into our neighborhood, and 4 porches. 1-912 (garaged), 1-993, 1-Cayenne and my 996. Out of those houses, only two households have porches. 1 household owns the 912, 993 & the cayenne and it's not me. And I thought I was a porsche nut - Hi, Mark...sell me the 912 already!

I would say that in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, you see more porsches than corvettes. Strong P-dealership (Carousel) I assume. Although the vette crowd always has matching hats...what is up with that.

Porsche has a slightly stronger than .2% market share in my hood!

I never see Aston's in our area - no dealer support. And very few Bentley's (I think I see one a month if that and it may be the same two guys).
