Bob and Michael, great pictures. Dell, you were right about the toe on the rear of the Boxster, both sides were way off the mark. Had the car aligned and new sneakers put on at Digital Chassis yesterday. Felt the difference immediately, much smoother and should get better wear from tires. See you guys Saturday. Bob, drive safe and watch out for the VA and MD troopers hiding in the median.

Glad that was the easy fix! It just looked ever so slightly (but still visible) off. You should see much better tire life now! See y'all this weekend

Thanks for posting the pics guys.....you know how we love some pics

I made a mistake. The wedding we're attending in MD isn't happening this weekend. It's next weekend (9/27). So, I'll be at the Wake Zone this Saturday morning.

Congrats on the tire situation, Rich.

Charles, thanks for the compliment.

Sorry for the delay in response. Just got back from Palm Spings, Ca. where I was driving the new 2009 Carrera S w/ PDK. This new Tranny and Sport Plus mode blew my mind! We were hitting speeds just shy of 100mph on the canyon roads!

You should definately swing by. Its only 10-15 minutes from cary, and it is right off the beltline. Here is the address if anyone needs to GPS/Mapquest

There are a couple options for coffee get-togethers on Sat mornings. Hurricane region holds an official "Koffee Klatch" at Brier Creek every Saturday morning. There is also a group of us (both Hurricane and Carolinas members) that hold an "unofficial" coffee get-together and drive in Cary/Apex. Often we will drive in a group to Briar Creek if we don't go for a drive around Jordan Lake, etc..

This is the thread to keep an eye for the Cary/Apex coffee get-together.

gota911, it is a very nice color combo Ruby Red with sand beige interior and the makassar wood trim. Don't have pics...it's my friends car.

Default Wake Zone Attendees and "the Drive"

It was great to see everyone this morning. We had a great gathering - including a new Porsche owner: George and his daughter Katie ('01 996 Cab). We also had Ken, Bruce, Martin, Dell, Rich, Michael, Alex, Charles, John and yours truly. After some great coffee, and a great conversation at the Wake Zone, we headed off to drive around Jordan Lake. The weather couldn't have been better and the drive was outstanding - 8 Porsches. Thanks for a great morning everyone. The link to my photos of the morning's activities is below.

I hate to miss even one Saturday with such a great group of people. But, I hope you all will get together and post photos. I'll be back the following Saturday.

For future planning:
- Michael mentioned that next weekend is Octoberfest - some of the group may want to check it out
- Dell proposed driving to VIR one of these mornings
- I'd like to have the group over to my house for a lunch or dinner cookout
- George suggested a drive out to Pittsboro's country roads - I've seen them; they're beautiful
- We talked about a tech session with Jeff Schiff to clear out our front bumpers and oil coolers
- I'm serious about November DE at VIR with Dell. Who else is interested?

OK - that should give us plenty to talk about when I return.

Enjoy!
Bob
