OT: Drive safely out there

I was reading this on another forum and was holding my breath a bit since my cousin has a silver Porsche on the street where this accident occurred.
I know we love our spirited runs and you can't predict what's going to happen, but regardless of how wonderful our cars are to drive fast, try your best to temper the enthusiasm with sound judgement.
If you're understeering your 911 on public roads, you're driving too fast which supports my argument for all of you upgrading to steamroller 19s.
Just tragic and hits close to home for me. Prayers go out.

Sunday was a very nice, sunny warm day in Seattle which has been a tough thing to come by this year as it's been unusually cool and rainy.
I could totally see myself driving this very road to visit my cousin or head over to Fremont for a meetin' with friends, enjoying the flat6 and then bam.
This isn't posted to make us paranoid, just enjoy life and try to keep the shiny side up. You can control your driving style.

I think you might be right! I didn't see the vent, and it's hard to make out even when looking closely. I should have noticed there's no nack seat. I was looking at the exhaust pies that seemed to be on the driver side rather than the center. Tragic accident.

As for the car, the rear deck lid is really long, and the brake light is up by the seats, which leads me to agree that the car is a 986. On a 996 cab, the brake light is right over the engine bay.

Man, what a waste.
You really have to be cooking to lose control of a Boxster. Certainly speed way above what is considered safe, forget about legal. Take it to the track, friends.
Prayers to all concerned.
