Congrats, but those bikes do look precipitously & precariously perched above the P-car....

Have fun.

Congrats Mike!

I too have recently fullfilled a lifelong dream, bought my C2 Cab in Nov. I creep in the garage all the time to give her a little love.

I would love to hear your feed back on the new K40 2000. I am looking for a radar/laser detector and a guy at Al & Eds said he could do a stealth install of the K40 2000 (which I believe is front and rear) for about $2k. Seems steep but I like the fact that it will be hidden. They said they were going to use the turn signal lights as my indicators.

The K40-2000 seems ok, but I can't say that I have much experience with other radar detectors to compare it against (it was a total surprise that it had the detector - I wasn't looking for one, and haven't used for for years). I did a quick search on google for it, and there are mixed reviews of it's performance compared to some other leading radar detectors. The most common complaint is that (some say) it falses too much.

As far as stealth goes, it is great. The dealer didn't see it, the PPI inspection didn't see it, and I only saw it when I was washing the car. I still don't know where the rear detector is, but I can see that it works when I drive past a radar source. Flashes from the front led and then from the rear led.

The one in my car was installed where two tiny holes were drilled into the instrument panel above the ***** for the clock, etc. Red led's shine through those holes. A city/highway bi-colored light was installed in the CD holder insert, and the control **** was installed on the side of center divider close to my right knee.

Wow! That is a great first Porsche...
My first was a 924, followed by a 928S. Then I bought a 91 Carrera and I was hooked for life. Six Porsches later I now have a 996 C4S. I learned a lot about Porsches, but starting with such a great car MUST feel nice!
