Great initiative, but I see a credibility issue here.

A 10-15 year old car with a brand spanking new option sticker is surely going to raise more questions as it may appear to be a cover up for something that is just not right. A little like the clock showing 25'000 miles but the interior says 125'000 miles...

The sticker on my car also appears to be fading (11 years old) but I have taken a photo of it so no doubt about its authenticity. OK, I know that some one doesn't have the sticker as it was removed by a previous owner (why would one remove this in the first place?) so I would contact Porsche to have it sorted through official channels instead of spending money on something that may (in the potential buyers eyes) seem dodgy.

1.- Porsche dealers can't supply a new one. This sticker is a unique item, so there's no way to get it from Porsche AG


2.- To have or not to have a under hood sticker is very personal. All my Porsche friends like to have the car with all the data as possible. One of them purchased a fantastic 993 C4S (original was Turquoise color). The have been fully painted in Grand Prix White and as you can imagine, all the car's stickers were missed. Some could be purchased in a Porsche dealer, but there were others which you couldn't find anywhere.


He asked me to make them: underhood sticker, maintenance book sticker, and 2 passenger door jamb stickers. He doesn't want to sell the car. He doesn't want to trick anybody about the car. The car is for him, and there's no more to think about.

Another friend of mine has a Ferrari 328 GTB. The car missed all the engine stickers. I helped him to reproduce them and went to a print house to get them printed in gloss vinyl paper. They are perfect, and the car after a restoration looks fantastic. His owner is proud to see his engine "like new". There's anything bad in doing these things.

But if you try to trick, lie, or deceive someone with this, you'd be an idiot.

I've used Juankimalo's services to replace the missing sticker in my service manual. I suspect the original manual may have been lost early in the car's life and replaced. Interestingly all the service records and stamps are there and match with bills that came with the car. However, it just looked odd that the sticker was missing. Using the underhood sticker as a reference....he recreated the service manual sticker and now the manual looks as it should. I have no intention of selling the car.....and I am the only one that sees the manual...other than my mechanic. I'm such a freak about details like this....I've also had Stuttgart Studios recreate the original window stick. What can I say....my wife thinks I'm nuts. In any case....Juankimalo did a great job.

One question from a porschefile in training... I have the extra sticker in my service book still on it's backing and loose in the book... so is it supposed to be stuck to a page in the service booklet, or is it just key that I don't loose it... thx

Already got schooled on the Porsche Crest in my wheel center cap not being pointed to the valve stem... lots of lore I still need to learn... ha

A friend of mine purchased a second hand 2006 997 C2S.
The car was built on Nov 06 and has not any underhood sticker, but he wanted one

^^^ Those are real nice but is there a way for someone to tell that these are repro's ? I'm thinking of future scenarios where unscrupulous sellers might try to pass off accident cars and use these stickers and sell the car as all original. Especially with the rash of bad weather and accidents we've had in the US. If not, maybe put a discrete number code/wording at the lower corners or something.

This is an interesting question, but It's impossible to know it.

If I were going to purchase a car, i will go to my expert specialist to do a full pre purchase inspection.
The way to know if a car suffered an accident is going to the expert.

This is not a false thing. Some people wanted to have their cars with all the stickers, and were purchased with them

A lot of people miss their maintenance books, and there are new owners who wanted to have a detailed maintenance in a new booklet supplied by Porsche dealer (duplicate). Then they begin with the record maintenance and prefer to add a duplicate sticker which impossible to obtain from Porsche AG

Just like this. If someone try to sell a car with duplicate stickers is not my cup of tea. If someone is so stupid to purchase a car without an expert opinnion, is not my business. In fact, this is not my business or way of life. I have a "german squared mind" and like to do everything as perfect as possible.
