Default A question about Porsche's hygiene!

Friends...may I ask how do you give your Porsche an under-carriage rinse? Could you share your secrets?

Thank you.

Default I know I'm going to get flamed for this apostasy.

My dealer, Barrier Motors Seattle/Bellevue, offers free carwashes at their facility. It is a high tech automatic system that includes an undercarrage wash on the way in. You might check the better automated carwashes in your area, for any that include that function.

Of course driving in the rain is always good here in Seattle. Maybe a drive to the Northwest would do the job for you.

apostasy - I love Rennlist! Where else are car enthusiasts getting their hands dirty working on their cars and using words like apostasy?

Can a high-pressure brushless wash hurt a Porsche's finish? I would guess that a '99 (like mine) or newer can withstand that kind of blasting better than a P-Car from the 70s or 80s. Am I right?

A soft cloth wash, in my mind, is out of the question. I'm the only one who cleans my 911.

Griot's Garage has a wand that my wife got me for Christmas. I haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will do the trick. Here in New England undercarriage is important as they tend to go ape-s#%t with the salt every winter.

Jack it up as high as your stands permit and then get in there with a power washer. You should be doing this yearly, depending upon your area.

Clean Undercarriage:

I have been using one of them Steam Cleaners like on TV (Steam SharK). I plan to do a complete Spring Cleaning with that along with some Oil Eaters De-Greaser (Costco).

So far so good....But I need some warm weather before I start laying on the shop floor!!!!

Pictures to follow...
