Default Leather cover for center console Lid - Nice while it lasted

My new to me 02 996 console lid had a scratch on it so I ordered a nice new black cover for it from 928 Leather shop, Nice quality, stitching was nice, Crest in black to sort of match the ones on the headrests.
So, after spending about 4 hours removing the old leather and gluing this one on it looked great and this kind of thing is not my forte so I was amazed.
I leave it on my kitchen table to dry and go do a few other things.
A while later I notice my German Short haired Pointer Henry laying on the couch chewing on something, yup... He got the armrest lid and made it his new chew toy. That dog is lucky I am really fond of him.
Cover destroyed and never even made it to the car.
My wife found it very amusing.

Oh well

That is a good 1. Look at it this way; you now know what you're doing and can probably do a better job in less time (i'm trying to be positive).

In the grand scheme of things it's no big deal... but I think I may have someone else install this thing, I have no patience to do it again.

Here is the culprit, so Innocent looking

I ordered the same from 928 leathershop and like you did the manual glueing which came out nice, but I was fortunate enough to install it on my 996 before Sparky might have found it. I think the 928 shop will do the install for you (for $$) if you mail them the core lid. I found the leather to be top notch too.

So when will you be installing your new center console lid covered in genuine German Short haired Pointer leather?

Sorry to hear about the cover. I talked to the guy awhile back about doing some work for my Boxster and he was a really nice guy. Glad to hear the work is good quality.

You've got to love dogs. On Christmas morning, my toddler came down the stairs to see the Porsche Design 911 pedal car Santa brought only to find it covered in urine since one of our house-trained dogs peed on it.

Pics??? Did someone say PICS???? I just happen to have an "exclusive" pic of Henry when he first grabbed the lid. He looks to be on a mission!

Marc, sorry to hear about the storage bin lid, but it is a great story.

I'd like to see a pic of the car - that sounds cool (with or without urine is fine).
