Default WTB: cheap '99

I am looking for a cheap '99 to strip for a 'baby cup' DE/TT/Club Race car.

I don't care about the interior, climate control, wheels/tires, and not very much about the condition of the paint. If it's been in a fender bender, then good as long as it's straight.

The motor must be in reasonable condition, I have read the archives, so I know the deal with the 3.4. The plan is to drive the snot out of it, then new crate motor down the line.

Preferences are:
- '99 6spd
- LSD
- White, Silver or Black
- Black Dash
- 3.4L in decent condition or replaced

I want to spend mid/low $20's (or less). Cash in hand for the right deal.

The 996 engine isn't really a good race engine. If you want something like that for a race car you might want to look into something with the gt3 engine in it. It is a different engine that can handle the race conditions much better.

I found a 99 C2 in great shape for less than 22K. Granted it had 94K on the clock. Before I bought it I looked at a 99 C2 with 120 K for 17K. You should be able to get a bargin priced car if you look hard enough....

tell that to the grand am GS /koni cup race teams that keep winning with the m96 block.

Look a few threads down for a 996 ad for $15k. Sounds too good to be true.

Carlos...I will be out next year with the PCA-GGR but unfortunately my car will not be a tracked too often, not enough time for me to do so. But I will see you on the track anyways, so look out for my car and my number '666'

No ****. Don't tell my SO...to get her on board with my 996 purchase, I told her about the great resale value. I'm thinking these prices are the lowest we'll see for a while. I mean, does anyone really see even a high-mileage 996 being a $15k car any time soon?
