Default Best and cheapest mod performed so far.

Those F*!&# ugly airbag warning stickers on my visors were driving me nuts but with many thanks to Rennlist I followed the very simple procedure and 30 min later, voila! They are completely gone and makes a big difference in a cab. Probably cost me $0.10 in rubbing alcohol.

No, not at all. Amazingly, the fugly stickers just peeled away after a 15-min soak w/ alcohol rag. A little elbow grease to remove the gummy residue followed by a thin coating of Armor All and you cannot tell a sticker used to be there. I did both sides; the vinyl and the plastic mirror backside.

I saw a yellow 996 cab on the highway a couple of days ago, and my eyes were drawn to his yellow/white stickers glaring back at me. Why didn't I do this sooner?

Now that I have the technique down, it's time to do my wifey's Audi S8 visors.

2 keys to this successful mod: soak a small scrap of terry cloth in the alcohol, and cover it w/ a plastic bag for 15 min to avoid evaporation. Works like a charm!

Here are some pics of the results. If you still have your stickers, you already know what they look like. I captured the lighting in the vinyl photo to capture the most discoloration I could see. In normal daylight, you can't see this. I haven't tried another round of scum removal, but that may be next.

I'd rather have no yellow and white sticker on there and deal with a little fading! I have to do this mod.

As for another cheap but effective mod - smoked side markers!

Phil - I removed my stickers from my Graphite Gray visors about a year ago. Under certain lighting conditions, I can see a "gost" image of where the sticker was, but I'll bet others will never nitice it. I would think that since your interior is black, any residue left after removing your stickers it would be virtually invisible.

Phil - one other thing. You won't have to worry about and fading on your sun visors, since you car never sees the light of day anyway! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

This mod is at least not converting the car into a ricer.

Can removing a sticker really be classified as a "mod?"

Well, technically you modified your car... so I would say yes.

Makes a big difference in what? Why is a cab more affected by this "problem"?

I'm going to vote for this and the infamous "amberectomy" as "most useless/pointless mod ever".
