Default Global Motorcars SOLD the U-Boat (submarine)

Rennlisters,

Less rally the troups, boys!

As a lot of you may know Global Motorcars knowingly ripped me off and sold me an undisclosed, flood-damaged car last July, 2006. I was able to procure the records from a Porsche dealership in Houston to prove it.

Subsequently, Global gave me my money back, paid for my and my friends plane-ticket and gas-money when we went to Houston from St Lou. They also payed for shipping back. They had it listed for $55k on their website, $5k MORE than they sold it to me. Not only that but they we're advertising it as a car that was PERFECT with NO problems!!

I thought they were totally up-and-up until the relisted the car on Ebay and their website as soon as they got it back.

This left me and other Rennlisters in dis-belief. So, we decided that we would watch/track it and when they sold it, to another poor, unsuspecting victim we would take action.

Well my friends, I've been watching their website every week for a year and it's finally gone. WE must find a way to get them!!

Car:
2002 Black on Blake C4S with many options. Around 35k miles.
VIN: WP0AA29932S424090- Correction: WP0AA29932S624090

Your friend,
Gant
(Arr0gant)

Gant how do you know the UBoat was sold? They just delisted it off their website, right? Most likely it will pass through a string of dealers / auctions before coming into the hands of a regular consumer. In any case, is the dealership doing anything illegal by reselling it (I assume they will have an "as-is" sticker in some corner) ?

WRONG, in I think all states, Texas specifically it is fraud to knowingly sell a flood damaged, totalled car and misrepresent it as "ok".

See Texas DPTA (Deceptive Practice Trade Act) http://library.findlaw.com/2000/Mar/1/130722.html

Anyway, they are a private dealer. They most-likey sold the car to a private party. If they sold it to another dealer, I have the proof that THEY knew it was Flood-damaged. The car is basically worthless, and they know it.

If anyone has a Carfax account, please run the VIN so we can see if it's been titled.

If you think they are breaking the law, why not just report them to the State Attorney General's office?

That is why we need to find out if they sold it and ripped someone off. If we did (find the person), we NOW KNOW they fraudulently did it. WE HAVE PROOF!!! When they sold it to me, we did NOT have proof that they did it knowingly. NOW WE DO!

We ALSO need to contact the person that has the flood-damaged car, and payed fair-market-value for it. They need to know!

@!#$%& Why does everyone have to make this so difficult????

If you are so hell bent on revenge, why don't you just pay the $15 or whatever it is for a carfax?

Is there a way to just have the car VIN marked as flood damaged i.e. on Carfax? Then it's a matter of public record. Might be easier than trying to follow the dealer's every move.

Don't let it go. Go after them. I wish I had a way to help. I was ripped off by a used car dealer when I was just getting out of college and really couldn't afford it. I frickin hate people that think it's ok to rip others off!

That is the new customers job as it was yours. What you are contemplating is noble....but just be prepared for the fall out. I would like to see you bury these guys but I don't want to see them bury you.
