Question Anyone know a good Indy in SE Michigan?

The title says it all. If anyone has any good (or not so good) indy experiences in SE Michigan, I would love to know. I plan to do the basics myself (oil, filters, brakes, maybe even plugs, etc) but want to be prepared with a good shop/mechanic. Even better would be a good mechanic that works on the side so I can help work on the car and learn as much as possible. Hey, did you guys know the engine is in the back of these cars...

Jeff Jones in Farmington Hills. Tim Pott in Ann Arbor. And Danny Young at the dealer in Ann Arbor (Howard Cooper) is very good and trustworthy.

Brad - Thanks, but when I called there to get an estimate on something, they would not tke the time to give me a price for the parts or the installation, like I was wasting their time, so I got really turned off from there. Is there a specific tech I should ask for if I do bring my car there?

Patrick - Thanks! Farmington hills is not too far, so I will keep Jeff in mind.

Don,

If you want to make it into a good Sat or Sun drive...as long as it isn't a track weekend...you could always head all the way over here to the Cereal City area...I have a lift, all of the necessary tools/skills to walk you through this...heck, I can even score you a decent deal on parts.

Jeff Jones @ Automotive Techniques in Farmington Hills put in a Short Shift kit for me. He even called a week later to make sure everything was ok....

I was happy with the work.

I ended up not using a shop, dealer or independent at this time. I wanted to be prepared "just in case". There are some previous posts that have some recommendations.
