Default Which Oil?

So I have a question about which oil to use in this Engine.

Manual says Mobil1 5w30, but this shot shows a service tech using a different brand...

So do you think the Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup is still good for the warmer temps here in SoCal?

And can I use it in my 996 instead of Mobil Water?

If I get a sweet tasting drip on my garage floor is it coolant or do I have the dreaded porous cake problem?

I'd use neetsfoot oil. It'll protect any of the leather parts used in the engine.

Well why didn't you say you wanted an edible product. Let me see....Oil of Olay? No. Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil? No. Okay, I've got it. That good old standby: olive oil.

If I use Aunt Jemima, but then find a white creamy substance around the filler cap, is it intercakemix or just ready whip?

Geez...that's obvious. I'm gonna have to go with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup.....anything less will cause buildup.

Is that rice krispie treat???

But if the Hershey's goes dark brown after a few miles, is that because it's cooked, or because it's plain chocolate?

And what's the proper disposal method when you drain?

I can see the Maple Syrup working for our Canadian friends, with their cold winter starts.. But what about down here in the South where it's warmer.

That MS looks real thin as it drips down my stack in the morning
