Installed GT3 sway bars on my 99 996 cab, what a difference!
So I installed GT3 sway bars on my 99 996 cab last Saturday.
Also swapped out the drop links to TRG ones.
What a difference that made to the car! Corners so much better, can even feel it going straight (CA roads being what they are ...).
Highly recommended.

What diameter are the GT3 bars? How's it feel during normal driving? I am looking to do this to my 02 C4 cabriolet. Has this switch decreased body roll significantly? That is my main objective. One last Q, did they bolt on or did they need special droplinks, brackets, etc?

Don't know about the diameter but they are larger than the standard ones.
The front is 5-way adjustable and the rear 4-way adjustable.
I have the front (in the picture) at next to softest setting and the rear at full stiff.
It significantly reduces the body roll and changes the steering feeling of the car to the better.
For the front you need adjustable drop links since the geometry and connection points of the sway bar are different.

Does anyone know what about the 996 C2's geometry is different from the GT3 that requires shorter drop links? I am asking because I plan to install the GT3 shocks/springs in my C2 and wonder if by doing so wouldn't the GT3 bars just work fine using the standard GT3 droplinks?

However...I do not know the answer to your question regarding use of the stock GT3 droplinks. I'd have to assume though that you'd need the GT3 hubs to insure that everything fits as the sway bar mount is on the pinch bolt on the hub itself.

p.s. You going with the stock springs and valving or are you going to have the GT3 coilovers worked over?

Andy,
So I have it under good advice that the GT3 sway bar and drop link paired up with a GT3 shock should all line up fine with little to no preload. If not, easy fix to add adjustable droplinks. If anyone knows different let me know as it will save me from having the car sit a bunch of days if I have to order the drop links to finish the install.
I am keeping them as is since they are coming off a very low mileage car. If I have any issues with the dampining/rebound I'll revalve them down the road. The stock GT3 Springs seem like a good starting point for the time being since I am focused on a street car that does well on the track. Not the other way around. Plus moving up from USM030 with 170/260 ft-lbs to GT3 with 228/543 on the springs is a decent improvement.

the gt3 drop links connect to the strut differently than the base links. the base drop links ends are at 90 degree angles to each other, whereas the gt3 links are at 180 degree angles. if you upgraded to the gt3 struts, the gt3 drop links should work. if you have stock struts, the gt3 drop links will NOT work.
