Default Techron Fuel Cleaner - Anyone

I've used the Techron Fuel Cleaner in all my cars and very happy with the results. Any feedback on using Techron in a 996?

Thanks

I have had 3 Corvettes (2 C5s and C6), and have used it in all 3 with out any issues.

In fact i found it cleard up a ticking noise I had in my first vette.

I havent used it yet in my 996, but I will

I was going to make a thread about my recent Techron experience.
Just used my first bottle (20K miles) & car pulls so much smoother from 5000 RPM & up.

Worked great in 993. Plan to use in 996.

I used it. No difference. Guess it's not too dirty.

I used it twice in my 88 Carrera. No difference that I can tell. No issues either.

No difference here

Do it every 5000 mile anyways

There is documentation as to how to correctly use the Techron fuel cleaner in the 996. Wish I could find it.

I think Loren over at renntech has the doc.

I believe Porsche doc states…
You fill your tank up
Pour in 1 bottle of 20oz Techron
Run car until half a tank remains
Then refill tank
Porsche recommends only doing this 5000 miles

It really is good stuff - a fuel additive guy who works for Texaco swears by it. (He also likes the stuff my company makes, but I won't mention that)

I use it in every last tank fill up before an oil change...on all of my cars. Now, although I can't say I "felt" a difference, when I changed the head gasket on my old 85 944(135k mi), the valves were pristine.

Up through the mid 90's it was recommended and approved by Porsche as an additive every 3000 miles. I think current thinking is that new fuel formulations have cleaning agents in them, so reduced need for the injector cleaners. Could be a bunch of bull. I use it every 5K. BG products are also top-notch
