Repairing cracked 3.4 tech
A friend gave me a 1999 3.4 engine from a Carrera. The engine has a very small crack on one cylinder, but starts and runs fine for about 30 minutes. The rest of the engine is in great condition, it barely has 15k miles.
I read about sleeving the block, but cannot find any good tech on this. Anyone with experience?
Thanks!

Hi
There are 2 companies that do this in the UK. You should find more details on the website.
http://www.autofarm.co.uk/
http://www.hartech.org.uk/
The key technical person (Baz Hartech) from the second site posts regularly on the Pistonheads Porshe forum and is very well respected given his well informed balanced posts.
In both the above cases I believe the companies concerned manufacture their own repair sleeves that fit inside the existing block. Thus, you'd need to ship the engine (or short engine) to them in the UK for repair.
