Default 996 Noob inquiry...

Hi, this is my second post and I will try not to be too much of a 'Noob' to this forum. I am currently in the market for a new car and am considering a few specific low mileage 99-01 Carrera 6-spds. I would like to know the reliablity you guys have experienced with this model? Also, how has the maintenance been with your cars? Warranty coverage? Also, is there a 'leather wrapped' dash option?

I am going to the dealership today to look at what they have on the lot. Any help or information will be appreciated.

Stefan

Also, those of you with Tiptronic...how do you like that tranny? The Shifts?

warrenty is really good regrardless of what you hear but 01 is out of warrenty

get a ppi on any car you want to buy the 100$ could save you thousands
tips arent for everyone, they have a love hate relationship. I have no problmes driving them

I think you'll find that these cars are very reliable...

Well, with new information and a great deal on an M Roadster S54 (315hp version and low mileage), I am just not ready to take the plunge into the Porsche world. But hey, at least I am sticking with a German car. ;-) Take care.

Porsche maintenance is not for the faint of heart.
