Default tar-GA Tar-GA TAR-GA!

I've decided to sell my 1999 996 coupe because I found this 996 (2002) Targa. I guess because the 997 C4 Targas are coming out, people are selling to "upgrade" (which I personally think is a mistake, but anyway...)

Man, I love this car!!

I'm a happy man!

Very nice! I've always thought that the Targas (ever since the 993) were mucho-grande cool but didn't want to own one due to the heat from the sun in the summer. But I see that you are a fellow NC'ite. Where do you live,t?

just curious but why do they still call it a Targa? The top can't be detached so its really just a really big sunroof. The reference to the Targa Florio races would require that top to come off completely so that the driver err racer could jump in and speed off.

Congrats on your choice. Targas are totally cool. I thought pretty hard about getting one when I got my coupe. Considering I don't use my sunroof, I figured it'd be wasted on me.

It looks cool, especially from that angle as in zose's signature.
But I can imagine what it's like driving a Targa in summer.

In all reality it is wonderful driving the car in the summer. At least in Seattle where we seldom see 90+ degree days it is perfect for me. I feel like people over look one of the best parts of the Targa, when the roof is closed, even on a rainy day you just feel like you're outside because of the entire glass roof. The glass roof really brings the environment in. It is a completly different feel from the coupe I had before.

Can you tell I just love my car?!

Yes, in Seattle is probably where the Targa is most suited for.
Down here in Florida, even the air conditioner is struggling to do its job after only being parked in the sun for a few hours! The sunroof is mainly to let off hot air as quickly as possible upon entry.
It would no doubt be a nice car to have here in winter!

Is that roof dark enough to keep the sun from burning your head!? Hehe...
It must come with a factory tint to block out UV rays.
