ROW M030 installed - weird side effect
very weird. since ROW M030 went into the car on monday, the car tends to go in circles like these:
http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/#mvt=h&ma...7.410664&mag=5
hehe... actually made about 10 runs over the last few days on these roads. trying to get suspension to settle in before i do final allignment.
definately love ROW M030 more than stock. the floating feeling of the front is gone. but i do have three questions:
1) what should i do with original suspension? try to sell it? keep it just in case? i hate it when things pile up in my garage
2) i was expecting the car to get lowered more than it did. its already been 3 days - my guess it wont get any lower than it is now
3) hmm.... i am already thinking of PSS9 -- would i be able to sell used ROW M030 for... lets say... 65-75% of the cost?

If I recall correctly, most have said it takes a few weeks for the springs to "settle" completely.
If you want to move to the PSS9 set up, I would like the first shot at purchasing your ROW M030 equipment. I'll have to check to see if the spring compression rates for your cab would work on my coupe.

1. Save it if you have the space. There is NO market for used 4x4 suspension from a stock 996.
2. Be patient. It will settle. Take it to the track and a good weekend of pushing it will expedite the process. Ask me how I know?
3. See #1 and #2
for Tim.....they will NOT work for your coupe.

With my car, the rear springs never settled anymore after they were installed. The fronts on the other hand settled a lot over the next week. My ride was pretty punishing for a while. The rear end stiffens up considerably with this suspension. My rear shocks started really stiff. After 3 months, they have softened considerably and now the ride is pretty reasonable.
As far as driving in circles, you do need an alignment. I would wait at least a week before having it done so the car can settle first.

I hope you measured before so you have a baseline to compare with. My drop was about 16-18mm in the rear and about 22-25mm in the front. Woulld I have liked a bit more? Yes. But at what cost. I already scrape BAD and the distance from the front cup lip to the ground on my car is about 5 inches which ain't much!

Oops, got it confused. You take PageMillRd (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.144882&om=1)
up to Highway 35, then you take Alpine Rd to La Honda which takes you to the 1. Its an insane drive. Very narrow roads and TONS of switchbacks!
Hopefully that google map will help. Man I am all giddy just thinking about those roads
