Tire sizes for '99 996 coupe
I like to know what is the maximum size tire combo for both front and rear I could install in my '99 996 coupe and still retain the turbo 18 inch wheels and without having to shave the inner flares like my friend did with his 993 which he put championsport rims with 275's . Right now its 225/40 for the front and 265/35 for the rears. Ne info would be gladly appreciated. Thanks

I believe this question was answered before. If you have factory installed 7.5" and 10" wheels, you are better off keeping the 225 and 265 tires you already have. Otherwise, you can install 285/30-18 tires on the rear at the risk of slightly increased understeer.
If you really want to do it, consider changing the front wheels to 8" to compensate for the added understeer.

Thank you for your response. I did post one time on same topic but something happened to this website and I couldnt find my topic. So with 285/30 for the rears and switching the front to 8' to counter the understeer would it in neway cause me to have to shave the inner flares at all which I dont wish to do. Great car u got- air cooled porsches sounds awesome. Mind is to refined-Ive been thinking about changing my stock exhaust to fabspeed since many on this website gave glowing reviews. Thanks
