2001 996 Winter wheels on a Boxster S?
I have a set of Porsche-approved 17" winter wheels left-over from the 2001 996 I sold.
225/45R17 91H rear
205/50R17 89H front
Will these fit a 2001 Boxster S I'm thinking of getting? Or is there some offset issue I need to worry about?
Thanks

I believe those will fit - When I purchased 17" porsche factory rims and snows for my '99 C4 couupe, the set that came with 205/225 size tires was listed as boxter/996 compatible. Note these are smaller tires (and I believe smaller rims) than the standard non-winter 17" rim/tire sets that come standard on a C2 or C4 (so I'm told, my car was purchased with 18" rims). I would recommend confirming this with a dealer before installing the rims/tires on the boxter S. Why did you make the switch?

I needed the money to pay for my wedding, so I sold the 996. I took a bit of a hit depreciation-wise, but not too bad compared to some other cars. I traded it in for a BMW 530i, but found that that just wasn't doing it for me.
So after considering the Boxster S and the M3 cabrio, I've now settled with a Mercedes SLK32 AMG, which I think I'll be keeping for some time. Hardtop convertible, more power than anything I've ever driven, my wife likes it a lot...
So those Porsche winter wheels and tires are for sale now...
