Default Tires?

Just got a set of new wheels. The rears are 11wide by 18. Anyone know what's the best size tire for these? 295x30?

Thanks!

295/30 was the standard factory fitment for 996 11J x 18 wheels.
315/30 for 996 12J x 18.

295 30 is good, we run that on the 19x11 actually. you can even go 305/30 or 25. I can check on exact model sizes for you... email me.

The 996 Cab with standard US suspension has significant understeer with stock front-rear wheel/tire width staggers. Increasing the stagger will only exacerbate the annoying understeer. I would go with the widest front tire for the matching front rim (8.5Jx18) of the set, and the narrowest rear tire to minimize the understeer designed into the factory US suspension (or upgraded suspension for that matter). So, my question would be what is the max tire size that the 8.5Jx18 will accomodate on a 996 narrow body, and then use the 295/30 on the 11Jx18.

YMMV.
