Post $50.00 dollar finders fee for these bearings

I desperately need these two bearings and will be happy to pay for information to find them.

*** Bearings
801641^^ H84 PS43
and
572548C H84 PS49

They are the main shaft support bearings on the 6 speed trany of the 2000 C2. Please feel free to let your bearing bros know there is a reward out for these two. Without them my Porsche is out for the count. Any help appreciated and paid for.

Do you have any dimensions on those bearings? If you do you can look them up on this site <a href="http://www.ahrinternational.com/bearing_lookup.htm" target="_blank">http://www.ahrinternational.com/bearing_lookup.htm</a> it has a very extensive inventory of bearings. You could also try contacting these people <a href="http://www.motormeister.com/suz/trans/clutch_trans.htm#Transmission%20Parts" target="_blank">http://www.motormeister.com/suz/trans/clutch_trans.htm#Transmission%20Parts</a> they seem to have a nice selection. If those don't work you can try contacting *** bearings directly at:
*** BEARING CORP (203) 790-5474
200 Park Ave Danbury, CT 06810-7553. Good luck with the hunt!

Take them in to your local bearing suplier. They should have lots of cross references to various manufacturers.

Some time ago someone else was looking for transmission bearings, which Porsche does not sell. He tracked down the company that made them but the company would not slle them to him as they were all presold to Porsche.

There are European companies that rebuild the transmission. In the US I would first try PowerHaus.

I would call Jeff at Auto Strasse in Newport, Costa Mesa, CA. He buys lots of blown engines and trannies and strips them for parts to rebuild others. I bet he has them. 949-645-1928 Good luck

Get the dimensions and try Timken if all else fails. We use them along with *** bearings on the F-15 engines so they must be good enough for a Porsche. Our engines make about 17000 hp so you should be good to go.

Thank you all for the info,
I think it is going to be hectic to find those, but I will not stop to finding them
I just learnt today that Porsche AG in Germany requires the tranny serial number to ship those to the dealers. (irony of the sort, there is Mercedes-Benz plate on the tranny)
I called *** in Switzerland, and they are forebidden to sell those to anybody.
I am confident I will find them.
One more detail, there is Brazil engraved on the bearing

It's possible that these are proprietary bearings. That means they were manufactured exclusively for Porsche or the manufacturer of the transmission and are not a stocking part or available for sale to anyone other than the original customer. Usually a bearing like this has no cross reference to other brands and is dimentionally non standard or unique in design. I have run across this many times and a best case is that it is an extremely uncommon bearing and will be difficult to find and expensive.

The worst case may be that the bearing is not available for sale separately from any source. I have been in this situation where I have had to modify a part by altering it dimensionally to fit a common bearing. Hope it doesn't come to this for you and you are able to locate it.

If you are in Europe.

I am a Boxstir guy. Thought the 996 manual transmission was Getrag. Thought the turbo tip used Mercedes. But if it says Mercedes then maybe you can check with Mercedes.

A mechanic I know was working on a Cayenne automatic transmission, which is made by the Japanese company Aisin. He needed a part that Porsche did not have. Porsche said to buy the part from a Lexus dealer. Guess Aisin also makes a Lexus transmission.

I am writting this message from the dealer here,
they do not have the tranny parts.
If the one next to you has them, I would humbly offer $100 for the effort, + cost + shipping
regards and thanks
