Post 997 Article in German Magazine...

called "auto motor und sport". The title page showed a picture (computer image) of how the new 997 is supposed to look like:

A short summary of the article:

- 997 coupe will debut in summer of 1994
- 993-like headlights
- body will be a bit curvier on the sides
- 19 inch wheels
- two engines: today's 3.6 engine with 320 hp and an "S" version with 3.8 liters and 350 hp
- the latter engine will be standard in the new Carrera 4
- new transmission option similar to the old PDK called DKG (Doppelkupplungsgetriebe)
- the dashboard will change in that it will be more similar to that of the (!) cayenne

!Always sunny over in Ticino!!.. Here in Lausanne early this morning, it was 5°Celsius (41°F)now we got a shy sun!.
It makes me think that soon i'll have to fit the '17 winter tires.

Well,
I guess that this means that I might be getting my GT3 after all.... I wonder what the performance difference between a 997 and 996GT3 (2nd run) will be. Any insights?

JM,
No mention of 997GT3 plans in the article. Just what you know already, next Spring a new 996 GT3 with 380 hp. Also apparently a decision will be made concerning a new model (rumored to be a four door car with Cayenne engine...).
