Transmission Recall

urbanski: make sure the dealer documents the pop out of 2nd gear in your service file , for future reference. I have been told that even after the warranty expires and it is documented as a "previous possible" problem Porsche will honor the warranty on that item.
hsummy: Where did you take your car for the tranny service? If it is in the San Francisco Bay Area, who was your service advisor?
Thanks,
Bocky

Just for the record (in case anyone is still following this thread) I got a recall notice for my April/02 build C4S, no problems at all with the car, they put it on the hoist to check the numbers on the trannie and are putting a new one in on the recall. Actually I see this as pretty good service from Porsche, no hassle.

Zak,
They hoisted my June build and found that the new tranny was unnecessary. No problems with the car at all! I think Porsche has handled this pretty well! At least I haven't seen/heard a lot of bitchin'!
