Post MY2004/2005 911 CARRERA.

In one of the British car magazines, they state that the next generation, 2004 or 2005MY 996 will actually be called Carrera, and will not be referred as the new 911 at all.

The 911 badge will be saved for the designation of a similar but different model, which will bear supposedly a sportier design and feel, much like the older 911's did.

The 911 will be more sports car and the Carrera will be more GT.

It seems that our complaing about the 996 has not fallen on deaf ears, hopefully it will come true.
