Default I need some help

I own a '05 Elise Artic Silver with Red interior. While I LOVE the car, my wife wants me to get rid of it and get a 911. While I can't afford a 997, I would get a nice 996. Is there a possiblility that someone would consider trading for my car? I have every available option on my car including the transferable 5 year 75,000 mile warranty from Lotus of Atlanta. Please let me know if this is a crazy notion.

Thanks,

Bo

Bo, not to be a wise guy, but, you would have an easier time trading to a Boxster owner, and then just maybe.

You are probably right on the Boxster idea, but I am not a big fan of that car. Plus, I find most 911 owners enjoy the pure race bred feeling of a car like the Lotus. I appreciate your advice, and you are probably right.

Then maybe a nice Boxster S would work for her. The new 987 is very nice and is an awesome performer. You maybe able to get someone with an 05 to trade you, they are close in price range. You may even want to post your request on the autocross forum as those guys love the Elise. Personaly the reason I got rid of my Boxster for a 996 was more room. Good luck!

Well, he did say 996, and that goes from 1999-2004. Cab? 996 cabs range from $32K (1999) to $60K (2004). Should be able to find an even trade in there somewhere, proly closer to 1999.

A straight-up trade will be a hard sell for us 996ers. Hypothetically speaking, I'd love to have an Elise -- for a second toy. In lieu of the 996? Not a chance. I can't see too many owners trading their 996 for an Elise as a daily driver. Just sell it to a track junkie, then go shop for a 996.

Good luck!
