Post Brake Dust

My current car gets lots of brake dust on the wheels after just a few miles. So, I hope the wheels on the C4S do not have this problem.

Further, are the wheels reasonably easy to clean or are any special brushes needed?

I use P21S Wheel Cleaner.
(Literally) spray on -- hose off.
OEM pads produce a lot of dust but usually don't squeal. Some performance pads produce less dust and more squeal.

It's your choice

The C4S OEM wheels are the easiest to clean wheels I have ever had. After a wash, the dust/dirt literally just wipes off!! Supposedly it has a coating that prevents "stuff" from sticking, and it works. Like taking off scrambled egss from a Teflon pan. Would not recommend any cheimical agents. Dealer recommends a coat of wax each time you wax the car.

I'm starting to hate chemical agents to clean my wheels. I used rim cleaner on my '02 Subaru RS and it discoloured the calipers!

I had the Sport Classic 17" wheels on my Boxster and they were a nightmare to clean. The C4S are far easier. Sure does get a lot of brake dust but much easier to clean. I'm never getting thin-spoked wheels again.

(BTW, how do those BMW owners keep their wheels so clean?!)

There's alot of brake dust but it does come off pretty easy. I've got the 18" turbo rims and dust can be wiped off. I switched to harder brake pads that don't produce as much brake dust on my M3 and the brakes do squeck now even with new rotors. So, on the 996 I'm keeping the OE brake pads for now.....lesson learned. Nothing more embarrassing than slowing down at traffic lights with everyone looking at your car and having your brakes squeck
