Default Sirius Starbase installed

I put this in last weekend and absolutely love it. It's a little different than some designs because it's not a plug and play unit - it's designed for more of a permanent install. I also have going into the Aux Input of the cdr-220 so there's no issues as with FM modulation.

The only negative is that it has a blue backlight instead of amber - but I'll survive...

Is that really the location you chose for the signal receiver....on top of the speaker??? Most have it hidden under the rosette in the middle. The rosette is that piece that is betweeen the two defroster panels.

Nice!
I'm getting one installed on tuesday, along with an iPod dock.
I have PCM and a CD changer, so my install is goig to be more tricky. I'm leaving it to the pros.
How's the reception with the antenna on top of the left speaker?

Antenna placement was a question going into the project and I had planned to put it under that middle cover on the dash, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit. Apparently some other antennas do, this one was just a little too long and too wide.

I wanted a clear line of sight for the antenna but I didn't want to see it from the driver's seat, so this worked out quite well. The reception there is just as good as my other cars with an external antenna, so while it's a little unconventional, it works quite well.

I think the insatller said he was put my antenna outside, between the wiper blades.
Also, I opted for the Starmate Replay instead of the starbase.
