Lightbulb GT3 adjustable sway bars

What should I expect in terms of performance and driveability from the GT3 adjustable sway bars ($476 from Carnewal)?

The only suspension modification I've made to-date in my 2001 911 Coupe is the H&R coil over kit from Carnewal.

I know the sway bars are 5-way adjustable up front and 4-way adjustable in the rear...are these adjustments easy to make at the track?

I track the car 15-20 days a year in Chicago regional DE events at Road America, Blackhawk, Gingerman, Putnam Park and Mid-Ohio next year.

TIA for the positive feedback.

Gonzo, I ran my 99 C2 with just H&R coilovers for one season and then added swaybars this spring. It's really a nice addition and well worth the money. What little body roll you have now will be gone and the adjustments have a pretty significant impact on under/oversteer. I switch between 245f/285r Hoosiers and 265f/285r Pilot Sport Cups at the track and adjust the bars at the same time. It's a ten minute job. Go for it.

Hope to see you at RA or Blackhawk next summer.

You should use them with a lower stiffer suspension. The H&R's make a nice package or the ROW 030 or X74. Keep in mind that if you use a stock Porsche suspension you also need the racers group drop links $$$$.

I think you'll like the effect of the GT3 rollbars, When I ordered mine TRG did not have their version of the drop links worked out yet. So I used the factory links. They were more money but I knew it would all fit just right.

I think you will find that you set and forget. Since once you have it dialed in there is no real need to mess with them. (Unless you drive on some tracks that are very different from each other.) I could see where you would want less over/under on some tracks...but I have not had to change mine once I got it where I like it.

One thing you might want to do is replace the rubber bushings with the monoballs. This makes a very nice addition since the car will be much more precise and it will feel like your on rails.

Enjoy your toy! <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

Thanks for the feedback, but I have a question:

Why do I need new drop-links? With the H&R coil-over kit I have only lowered the car 1.25" all the way around which is well within the 30-60mm front perimeter and 20-50mm perimeters. Now as I go to add the GT3 adjustable sway bars - shouldn't it all mate together without changing the drop links?

If they sell this stuff as one kit now, why don't they sell the drop-links too?!

Cool

If you want to use the multiple mounting points you need adjustable length drop links. I have also heard of a number of cases of people snapping the stock droplinks. I used the TRG ones. They cost more than the damn bars!!!

Yes, you need the adj drop links to make it all work right. The ones I got where the Porsche Factory Race drop links (Not the stock 996 links) If I miss lead you sorry. And they are expensive. TRG did not have theirs designed at the time I purchased my bar from them.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm going to have to order the adjustable drop links as well. Hopefully Gert can get them from Porsche as that's who I'm ordering the adjustable sway bars through.

Gert's new site at <a href="http://www.carnewal.com" target="_blank">www.carnewal.com</a> is much improved.
