Default Dumb question on air-intake

This might seem like a really dumb question.

I know that water getting into the air-intake is a bad thing and automakers usually try to hide the airbox and intake in as dry a location as possible.

On my C4S the intake snorkel is positioned right below the spoiler. I'm having a hard time thinking how the snorkel stays dry when the car is being washed or driven in rain? Are there channels in the spoiler that keep the water from getting in?

Drain holes at the bottom of the airbox.
