Airbag Light on 1999 996.
I'm looking at a car for sale that has the airbag light on.
Is it likely a minor problem like a sensor, or a more major issue?
I will do a Carfax and confirm it has had no paintwork done to it.

The airbag light is common on these cars. My last two 996's both had seatbelt problems. They replaced the seatbelt buckle and the problem was fixed. As just stated, this has happened to me in two different cars. I don't think it's very much money to fix, both were warranty replace, but can't imagine it being a high dollar cost.

I've had my airbag light go on in my 2001 C4, turned out to be the sensor under the passenger seat. I'm sure it's not serious but of course I would have a PPI done on it.

Could be as minor as a seat belt receptacle or as serious as a faulty airbag. Only way to find out it to have a PORSCHE dealer hook up their PST2 to diagnose, fix, and turn off the light. And that is the only way to fix it. My question would be the car would be for sale with the light on. If it is a private seller, that needs to be taken care of by the owner BEFORE the sale and if it is a non-Porsche dealer then they need to pony up the cash to have a Porsche dealer get that rectified.
