Check engine light after Fabspeed airbox upgrade
I did a search and found that some of you had the check engine light come on after the install. It just went for me after 100 miles of driving it with the new airbox mod from Fabspeed. So what are my options?
1) Let the computer relearn it and hopefully it will go off in another 100-200 miles.
2) Pull the battery cable, reset the computer and see if it happens again?
3) Go back to stock?

3,000 miles since I installed mine..no check engine lights. I would not assume that the airbox was the cause of the light.. I'd get it over to the dealer. Perry

Had the fabspeed intake for 5k miles and never has triggered the MAF sensor. Now I have the airetek high flow one and it hasn't yet either. It may come down to the MAF sensor being contaminated which is entirely possible especially installing. I don't think by leaving it alone will solve the problem but who knows but if it does readjust that's great. You may put back the stock one and see if check engine lite triggers the the MAF is definitely the problem. Regards. Mike

My check engine went on after about 100 miles with my FabSpeed air flow mod. Had my dealer put the car on the computer and there was a MAF fault. The dealer said it could be a bad MAF, so they back ordered one. After almost a 3 month wait and one day before Thunderhill Track Day they installed the new MAF and did a diagnostic check on the computer and the readings indicated that it was running lean and my Tech said the check engine light was likely to go on again. Since the engine management system goes into a protect mode when the check engine light goes on I went home and put the black plastic screen (the one that fabspeed says remove) back on and went back to my dealer and we ran another diagnostic check on the computer the readings indicated everything was perfect. The car ran awsome the next day with new Porsche Sport Exhaust and the screen is still on and no check engine light alluminated.
I think some cars will like the full air mode and some don't.
Try putting the black screen back and drive your car three or four trips and tell us what happen.
